Email Lists

The Center maintains four email lists. Each provides information about the Center and upcoming activities, as well as other East Asia events around the area. Lists for faculty and students provide information appropriate for them, including grants, scholarships, and study abroad programs. Email list descriptions.

The Center has been publishing the scholarly works of KU faculty and other scholars since 1962. All CEAS scholarly publications have now been digitized and are available on KU ScholarWorks, an open access site maintained by the KU Libraries. For specific information on these CEAS publications, including a link to our Uyghur textbook, click here.

Statement from Director

Dear CEAS Community,

I hope you and your families are all well. As you know the university has announced the closures of most if not all events for the Spring semester. Therefore, CEAS will also suspend all events for the rest of the semester.  This includes the Silk Road Symposium, the North Korea Inside Out conference, the Kite Festival as well as Tea and Talks and invited speakers. We will reschedule these events for Fall 2020.

The most important thing is the health and well being of the university and Lawrence community. This is a challenging time, but we will get through this and CEAS events will continue in Fall. You can follow CEAS information and schedule changes on CEAS web page and social media.

Take Care,

John Kennedy

Director of the Center for East Asian Studies
